| 12 – 16 Jan. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 07 – 11 Dec. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The transition from the OHSAS 18001 specification to the ISO 45001 international standard represents a shift toward a more proactive, leadership-driven approach to occupational health and safety. This course is designed to guide organizations through the specific changes required to migrate their existing safety systems to the new ISO framework. Participants will learn how to leverage their current OHSAS foundations while incorporating the mandatory new requirements of Annex SL.
The scope of this training involves a detailed comparison between the two standards, highlighting the increased emphasis on worker participation, mental health, and the management of change. Attendees will explore how to transition from a "safety manager" focused system to one where top management is directly accountable for safety performance. The curriculum focuses on the practical steps of updating documentation, conducting gap analyses, and preparing the workforce for a successful transition audit.
Coverage includes the new definition of "risk" and "opportunity" in a safety context, the requirement to identify external and internal issues, and the expanded role of worker consultation. Participants will examine the transition timelines and the process for achieving accredited certification under ISO 45001.
