Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Masterclass
| 29 June – 03 July 2026, Dubai | 19 – 23 Oct. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a cornerstone of automotive and aerospace quality management, ensuring that suppliers can consistently meet the customer's engineering design and specification requirements. This masterclass provides an intensive exploration of the 18 essential elements of the PPAP submission. Participants will learn how to build a robust documentation package that provides the customer with the confidence that the production process has the potential to produce a conforming product at the required rate.
The scope of this training involves the deep technical application of PPAP requirements as defined by the AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group). Attendees will examine the critical relationship between PPAP and other Core Tools, such as APQP, FMEA, and SPC. The curriculum focuses on the practical challenges of gathering evidence during a production trial run, including the documentation of dimensional results, material tests, and process capability studies.
Coverage includes the different submission levels (1 to 5) and the criteria for determining when a new PPAP is required due to process or design changes. Participants will learn how to evaluate supplier PPAP submissions from a customer’s perspective, identifying common weaknesses and "red flags." By the end of the course, attendees will be able to manage the entire PPAP lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with IATF 16949 standards and fostering stronger, high-quality partnerships within the supply chain.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose and business benefits of the PPAP process.
- Identify the 18 elements of a standard PPAP submission.
- Determine the appropriate PPAP submission level based on customer needs.
- Facilitate the creation of a Part Submission Warrant (PSW).
- Audit the adequacy of a Process Flow Diagram and Control Plan.
- Evaluate the results of Design and Process FMEAs within the PPAP.
- Interpret dimensional results and material test reports for compliance.
- Analyze initial process capability studies for new production lines.
- Review Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) records for PPAP items.
- Understand the requirements for Appearance Approval Reports (AAR).
- Manage PPAP submissions for "Bulk Materials" and specialized parts.
- Coordinate the PPAP process for engineering and process changes.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Supplier Quality Engineers, Production Managers, Design Engineers, QA/QC Specialists, and Purchasing Officers in the Automotive and Aerospace industries.
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximize the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
