| 30 Mar. – 03 Apr. 2026, Dubai | 24 – 28 Aug. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The ISO 30000 Lead Auditor course is an elite training program designed for maritime professionals who wish to lead certification-level audits of Ship Recycling Management Systems (SRMS). This course provides the comprehensive technical and leadership skills required to assess if a recycling facility operates in accordance with international safety and environmental standards. Participants will learn how to evaluate the entire ship lifecycle management within a facility, ensuring that dismantling processes protect both the workforce and the global marine ecosystem.
The scope of this training encompasses the high-level management of audit teams and the interpretation of complex regulatory requirements, including the Hong Kong Convention and the Basel Convention. Attendees will master the ability to audit the Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM), the technical Ship-Specific Recycling Plans, and the downstream waste management infrastructure. The curriculum focuses on the lead auditor’s responsibility to provide authoritative conclusions on a facility’s compliance and its ability to manage the severe risks inherent in shipbreaking.
Coverage includes advanced lead auditing strategies such as managing large-scale shipyard inspections, handling multi-stakeholder disputes, and reporting critical findings to national and international regulatory bodies. Participants will engage in complex case studies involving environmental contamination scenarios, worker safety breaches, and hazardous waste traceability failures. By the end of this course, attendees will be prepared to lead audits that serve as the foundation for global green ship recycling certification.
