Introduction to ISO 45001 OH&S
| 08 – 12 June 2026, Abu Dhabi | 26 – 30 Oct. 2026, Sharm El Shaikh |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is a fundamental responsibility of every organization to ensure the well-being of its employees and stakeholders. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to ISO 45001, the world’s first international standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. Participants will learn how the standard provides a framework to manage OH&S risks and opportunities, prevent work-related injury and ill health, and provide safe and healthy workplaces.
The scope of this training involves an exploration of the standard’s structure, which follows the High-Level Structure (Annex SL) common to other ISO standards. Attendees will learn the core requirements of the standard, with a particular focus on the unique emphasis ISO 45001 places on leadership commitment and worker participation. The curriculum is designed to help participants understand how to transition from a reactive approach to safety to a proactive, risk-based management system.
Coverage includes the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle as it applies to OH&S, the importance of hazard identification and risk assessment, and the legal compliance framework. Participants will explore how an OH&S management system integrates with other business processes to improve organizational resilience and reputation.
