Writing Project Specifications

27 Apr. – 01 May 2026, Abu Dhabi24 – 28 Aug. 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

The clarity of technical specifications is a primary determinant of project quality, schedule adherence, and financial stability. This course provides a comprehensive framework for Writing Project Specifications, focusing on the transformation of "Technical Ideas" into "Legally Enforceable Requirements." It addresses the strategic importance of eliminating ambiguity, reducing technical risk, and providing a clear "Performance Baseline" for vendors, contractors, and internal teams.

The scope of this training encompasses the structural organization of "Specification Sections," the application of "Mandatory Language," and the integration of "Quality Standards." Participants will learn how to draft "Descriptive," "Proprietary," and "Performance-Based" specifications while managing the "Technical Interface" between different engineering disciplines. The course provides practical tools for "Requirement Verification," "Document Control," and the utilization of "Standard Templates" to drive organizational consistency.

Coverage includes the analysis of the "CSI Master Format" and "Uniclass" structures, the implementation of "Review and Approval" cycles, and the execution of "Addendum Management" during the tender phase. Attendees will explore the legal pitfalls of "Vague Terminology" and learn how to write specifications that facilitate "Automated Inspection and Compliance" tracking. By mastering the art of writing project specifications, professionals will be able to minimize "Technical Queries," reduce "Contractual Disputes," and ensure that every project asset meets its intended operational purpose.

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Design a structured and professional "Project Specification" package.
