Project Portfolio Management

30 Mar. – 03 Apr. 2026, Dubai24 – 28 Aug. 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

The strategic selection and management of a collection of projects as a cohesive portfolio are essential for maximizing organizational value and ensuring alignment with long-term corporate goals. This course provides a high-level framework for Project Portfolio Management (PPM), focusing on the processes required to balance resource capacity against project demand while optimizing the overall return on investment. It addresses the strategic gap between high-level business objectives and the tactical execution of individual projects and programs.

The scope of this training encompasses the technical application of portfolio selection techniques, the prioritization of initiatives based on risk and reward, and the continuous monitoring of portfolio performance. Participants will learn how to utilize financial and non-financial criteria to evaluate potential investments, manage dependencies across multiple business units, and reallocate resources dynamically in response to market shifts. The course provides practical tools for establishing a governance structure that ensures transparent decision-making at the executive level.

Coverage includes the analysis of portfolio risk diversification, the implementation of "Stage-Gate" processes for portfolio health checks, and the utilization of PPM software for real-time data visualization. Attendees will explore the role of the Strategic PMO in maintaining portfolio balance and learn how to manage the "Portfolio Pipeline" to prevent organizational burnout. By mastering project portfolio management, professionals will be able to transform their organization from a project-centric entity into a strategy-driven enterprise that consistently delivers measurable value.
