Contract Excellence For Non-Legal Professionals
| 19 – 23 Jan. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 14 – 18 Dec. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
In today's integrated business environment, managers and engineers frequently find themselves at the center of contractual decision-making, often without formal legal training. This course provides a practical and accessible bridge between professional operations and contractual law, empowering non-legal staff to manage agreements with confidence and precision. It focuses on de-mystifying legal terminology and providing a functional understanding of how contracts protect organizational interests.
The scope of this training encompasses the essential legal concepts that govern commercial relationships, including offer and acceptance, consideration, and breach of contract. Participants will learn how to identify high-risk clauses such as indemnities, liquidated damages, and termination rights, understanding how these provisions impact daily project operations. The course emphasizes the importance of administrative discipline in maintaining the contractual "shield" through contemporary record-keeping and formal notifications.
Coverage includes the interpretation of standard contract terms, the management of variations, and the basics of dispute resolution without escalating to litigation. Attendees will explore real-world scenarios to learn how to communicate effectively with legal departments and how to avoid the common pitfalls that lead to unintended contractual liability. By achieving contract excellence, non-legal professionals will enhance their strategic value and ensure that their projects are delivered within a secure commercial framework.
