Utilities Water Systems Operation
| 20 – 24 Apr. 2026, Dubai | 14 – 18 Sep. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of utilities water systems in industrial facilities, focusing on the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of water treatment and circulation systems essential for reliable plant performance. The training addresses all major aspects of water utilities — including wastewater management, potable and process water systems, cooling water circuits, desalination, reverse osmosis (RO), and demineralization packages — emphasizing efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance.
Participants will gain insights into water balance within industrial plants, water quality control, and treatment technologies to meet process and environmental standards. The course integrates real-world examples and troubleshooting scenarios drawn from oil and gas, petrochemical, and fertilizer plant operations to enhance practical understanding.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of water utility systems in supporting continuous and safe plant operations.
- Identify the key components of utility water systems, including potable, process, and cooling water networks.
- Operate and monitor wastewater collection, treatment, and discharge systems effectively.
- Explain the principles and operation of reverse osmosis (RO) and demineralization (DM) units.
- Understand the design and functioning of cooling water systems and cooling towers.
- Manage potable water generation, storage, and distribution safely and hygienically.
- Analyze water chemistry parameters and apply corrective actions to maintain quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot common operational issues in water utility systems, including scaling, corrosion, and biological fouling.
- Apply preventive maintenance strategies and safety practices in water utility operations.
- Understand the integration of utilities water systems with process control and monitoring through DCS/SCADA systems.
TARGET AUDIENCE
-Control Room Operators
-Field Operators
-Utilities Operators
-Process Technicians
-Water Treatment Technicians

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
