Technical Engineering Drawings for Process Plants
| 30 Mar. – 03 Apr. 2026, Dubai | 24 – 28 Aug. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The Technical and Engineering Drawings course is a comprehensive classroom-based program designed to provide participants with essential skills in interpreting, creating, and utilizing technical drawings used in a wide range of engineering disciplines. The course focuses on building practical abilities to read diagrams effectively, extracting critical information from engineering drawings and specifications, and understanding fundamental drawing procedures. Participants will be introduced to basic drawing techniques, orthographic projection, dimensioning, and tolerancing, as well as the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Emphasis is placed on real workplace examples, enabling participants to apply what they learn directly in their engineering and technical environments.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain the purpose, principles, and importance of technical drawings in various engineering disciplines.
- Interpret and accurately extract information from engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Apply fundamental drawing techniques, including orthographic projection, basic views, and simple detailing.
- Use correct dimensioning and basic tolerancing practices according to common industry conventions.
- Create simple technical drawings using both traditional manual drafting tools and basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
- Recognize and apply relevant industry standards, symbols, and documentation practices for technical drawings.
- Communicate more effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and stakeholders by using technical drawings as a common engineering language.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Professionals requiring a quick yet solid understanding of technical drawing basics
-Individuals with time constraints seeking foundational skills in technical drawing for immediate use in engineering work
-Entry level technicians or engineers needing to enhance their skills in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and specifications
-Operations and maintenance staff who work with engineering drawings and need to understand them more confidently
-Supervisors and coordinators who review or approve technical drawings as part of their responsibilities
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
