Surface Facilities Equipment: Operations and Troubleshooting

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This course will provide a comprehensive overview of typical oilfield surface treating and processing equipment. Participants will learn not only the purpose of each piece of equipment but also how each one works in the overall production system. Emphasis is placed on gaining a basic understanding of the purpose, configuration, and internal workings of all types of surface facilities and treating equipment. Daily sessions will include formal presentations interspersed with questions, group discussion, and problem solving based on real operating scenarios.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the main surface facilities equipment used in oil and gas production, their types, main components, and typical applications.
  2. Explain the working principles and basic internal configuration of each major equipment type used in surface facilities.
  3. Describe key operating parameters and the operating context required to maximize equipment reliability and mitigate failures.
  4. Recognize and describe the instrument and control devices associated with surface facilities equipment and their role in safe and efficient operation.
  5. Identify the protection and safety devices installed on surface facilities equipment and explain their function in preventing incidents and equipment damage.
  6. Describe the range of applications, advantages, and limitations of different types and categories of surface facilities equipment to support proper selection and specification.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

 

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.

 

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
