Sour Gas Operations - Power Generation
| 05 – 09 Jan. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 26 – 30 Oct. 2026, Dubai |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The course provides essential knowledge and skills required to effectively monitor, operate, start up, and shut down power generation systems in sour gas operations. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the types of power generation equipment used in sour gas facilities, how these systems are integrated with plant utilities, and how they support safe and reliable facility operations.
The course places strong emphasis on operating power generation equipment in environments where hydrogen sulphide and other sour components are present. Participants will explore fuel gas quality issues, equipment derating, and reliability considerations specific to sour gas facilities. They will also learn the key operating procedures, monitoring routines, and troubleshooting approaches required to maintain safe and efficient power generation.
Safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and environmental considerations specific to sour gas operations are addressed throughout the course. At the end of the course, participants will understand how to operate and monitor power generation systems in sour gas facilities in a manner that enhances reliability, efficiency, and overall plant performance.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of power generation systems used in sour gas facilities.
- Train participants in the safe and efficient operation, startup, and shutdown procedures of power generation equipment in sour gas environments.
- Provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to monitor power generation systems effectively and troubleshoot common issues.
- Instill a strong emphasis on safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and environmental considerations specific to power generation in sour gas operations.
- Enable participants to contribute effectively to the reliability, efficiency, and overall success of sour gas facilities through competent power generation operations.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Operations engineers and technicians working in sour gas facilities
-Power plant operators in oil and gas and sour gas processing plants
-Facility managers responsible for utilities and power generation systems
-Safety personnel involved in sour gas operations and power generation risk management
-Maintenance technicians and supervisors responsible for power generation equipment in sour gas environments
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
