Petrochemical Product Quality Management and Specification
| 22 – 26 June 2026, Abu Dhabi | 14 – 18 Sep. 2026, Dubai |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course covers petrochemical product quality management and specification from an operations engineering perspective. It provides a structured understanding of how product quality is defined, controlled, and continuously improved along the petrochemical value chain. Participants will explore the relationship between plant operations, laboratory testing, online analysers, product specifications, and customer requirements. The course addresses product quality planning, monitoring, deviation handling, documentation, and communication, with emphasis on the practical role of operations engineers in meeting and maintaining product specifications while balancing production, reliability, and cost. Case study style discussions will be used to connect product quality concepts to real plant situations.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain the role of product quality management within petrochemical plant operations and the overall business.
- Describe key concepts and terminology used in product quality management and specifications for petrochemical products.
- Understand how product specifications are defined, documented, and communicated to operations and supporting functions.
- Describe the methods used to monitor product quality, including laboratory testing and online analysers, and interpret results from an operations viewpoint.
- Relate operating conditions and process stability to final product quality and specification compliance.
- Identify common causes of product quality deviations and apply a structured approach to investigate and address them.
- Explain the process for managing off specification product, including segregation, reprocessing options, and communication.
- Participate effectively in product quality meetings, reviews, and improvement initiatives.
- Use product quality data and trends to support continuous improvement in operations and process control.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Operations engineers in the petrochemical industry
-Petrochemical plant operators and technicians
-Process engineers supporting petrochemical units
-Quality and laboratory liaison engineers working closely with operations
-Management and supervisory personnel responsible for product quality performance in petrochemical plants
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
