Petrochemical Product Packaging/Pelleting systems Startup, Shutdown, Normal Operations and Troubleshooting

15 – 19 June 2026, Abu Dhabi07 – 11 Sep. 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This advanced course focuses on petrochemical product packaging and pelleting systems, with emphasis on startup, shutdown, normal operations, and troubleshooting from an operations engineering perspective. Participants will gain a structured understanding of how packaging and pelleting systems fit within overall petrochemical plant operations, the main equipment and control systems involved, and the typical operating sequences used to safely start up, run, and shut down these systems. The course also addresses common operational problems, interlocks and protection systems, product quality considerations, and coordination between operations, maintenance, and logistics. Case study style examples will help participants connect system behavior, alarms, and operating data with practical corrective actions and improvements.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the role of packaging and pelleting systems within petrochemical plant operations and product export value chains.
  2. Describe the main components and process flow of petrochemical product packaging systems at a conceptual level.
  3. Describe the main components and process flow of petrochemical product pelleting systems at a conceptual level.
  4. Apply structured startup and shutdown sequences for packaging systems in line with standard operating procedures.
  5. Apply structured startup and shutdown sequences for pelleting systems in line with standard operating procedures.
  6. Monitor normal operations of packaging and pelleting systems, interpret key operating parameters, and recognize early signs of abnormal conditions.
  7. Troubleshoot typical operational problems in packaging systems and take appropriate corrective actions or escalate effectively.
  8. Troubleshoot typical operational problems in a pelleting system, including product quality and mechanical issues, and support corrective actions.
  9. Interpret basic control and interlock logic related to packaging and pelleting systems and understand how these support safe operation.
  10. Coordinate effectively with maintenance, logistics, and quality teams to sustain safe, reliable, and efficient packaging and pelleting operations.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

-Operations engineers in petrochemical plants

-Panel and field operators involved with packaging and pelleting units

-Production and logistics coordinators handling petrochemical solid products

-Maintenance technicians supporting packaging and pelleting equipment

-Supervisors and senior operators responsible for startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting in solid product handling areas

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
