COURSE OVERVIEW:

The course will provide the participants with an understanding of the ways the oil and gas industries have organized to operate effectively and efficiently. It introduces the sources, origin, and nature of petroleum, explains how value is created along the oil and gas value chain, and gives an overview of processing, refining, and gas processing operations. The course also highlights how different functions and assets are integrated to deliver safe, reliable, cost-effective operations, and how people, processes, technology, and governance work together to support business performance.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the sources, origin, and nature of petroleum and relate them to exploration, production, and processing activities.
  2. Explain the main segments of the oil and gas value chain and how they link together to create value from reservoir to end user.
  3. Identify the key elements of processing operations in upstream and midstream facilities at a conceptual level.
  4. Provide an overview of oil refining operations and how different refining processes turn crude oil into marketable products.
  5. Provide an overview of gas processing operations and explain how gas is treated, processed, and made ready for sale or further use.
  6. Recognize how oil and gas companies organize their operations functions to achieve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  7. Relate operational activities to broader business drivers such as cost, margin, asset integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  8. Appreciate the importance of integration and coordination between different parts of the value chain to support overall business performance.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

 

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.

 

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
