COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course provides an advanced and practical understanding of operational reviews, audits, and the handling of non-conformance within a documented Quality Management System in petrochemical and industrial operations. It explains key Quality Management System (QMS) terms and definitions such as quality control, quality assurance, and quality management, and shows how they are applied in daily operations. Participants will gain insight into management audit programs, audit activities, process audits, and how to plan, conduct, report, and follow up audits in line with defined scopes, criteria, and objectives.
The course also focuses on non-conformity management, including the classification of minor and major nonconformities, root cause thinking, corrective actions, and action item tracking. By the end of the course, participants will better understand how documented policies, procedures, and work instructions support audits and how effective audit and nonconformance processes contribute to continual improvement and operational excellence.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain key terms and definitions related to Quality Management Systems, including quality control, quality assurance, and quality management.
- Describe the structure and purpose of a documented QMS, including policy, procedures, work instructions, and records.
- Understand the requirements for planning and conducting process audits within an operational audit program.
- Define and apply key audit concepts such as audit scope, audit evidence, audit criteria, audit findings, and audit conclusions.
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of the audit team and auditors and the different types and phases of audits within an audit cycle.
- Distinguish between minor and major nonconformities and explain their implications for operations and compliance.
- Document audit findings clearly and link them to evidence, criteria, and risk.
- Explain the process for tracking action items and corrective actions arising from audits and operational reviews.
- Contribute effectively to operational reviews, internal audits, and follow up activities to ensure nonconformities are addressed and closed.
- Support continual improvement of the QMS by providing input on policies, procedures, and work instructions from an operational perspective.

-Supervisors and shift leaders participating in audits and reviews
-Quality control and quality assurance personnel working closely with operations
-HSE and compliance staff involved in QMS audits and nonconformance follow up
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
