Oil Stabilisation and Sweetening for Operator
| 19 – 23 Jan. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 09 – 13 Nov. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to oil stabilization and sweetening systems used in production facilities and terminals. It focuses on the principles, configuration, and operation of stabilization systems that remove light hydrocarbons and gases from crude oil, ensuring that the product meets safety and sales specifications for transport and export.
Participants will gain a clear understanding of crude oil processing and treatment, including phase separation, dehydration, desalting, and stabilization. The course also addresses sweetening techniques used to remove hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and other contaminants, ensuring the oil is stable, safe, and compliant with ADNOC and international standards.
Through lectures, interactive discussions, and case studies, operators will learn how to monitor, control, and troubleshoot stabilization units, manage plant upsets, and ensure safe operation of field facilities.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the purpose and importance of oil stabilization in production operations.
- Recognize the principles of crude oil treatment and production systems.
- Develop a practical understanding of oil stabilization and sweetening processes, including gas removal and pressure control.
- Learn the configuration and operation of stabilization systems in oil fields.
- Identify and manage operational parameters affecting stabilization performance.
- Understand sweetening processes for hydrogen sulfide removal and safety handling.
- Analyze plant malfunction scenarios and implement troubleshooting procedures.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
