COURSE OVERVIEW:

This course will provide participants with a practical understanding of oil movements within terminals, tank farms, and pipelines, together with the key aspects of jetty operations at oil and gas marine facilities. It explains how crude oil and refined products are received, stored, blended, transferred, and exported, and how shore facilities interface with marine operations at the jetty.

 

The course covers the functions of oil movement teams, the functions of jetty operations, weather and marine conditions that influence operating limits, and important aspects of safety management in terminals and jetties. Emphasis is placed on safe, efficient, and coordinated operations between oil movement, jetty, marine, and control room personnel.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the overall role of oil movement and jetty operations within terminals, refineries, and export facilities.
  2. Describe the main functions of oil movement, including receipt, transfer, storage, blending, and export of crude oil and products.
  3. Describe the functions of jetty operations and how they interface with vessels, marine authorities, and shore facilities.
  4. Explain how weather and marine conditions influence operating limits and decision making in terminals and jetties.
  5. Identify key equipment, systems, and documentation used in oil movement and jetty operations.
  6. Recognize important aspects of safety management related to oil movement, including safe tank operation, line up, and contamination prevention.
  7. Recognize important aspects of safety management related to jetty operations, including personal safety, process safety, and marine safety.
  8. Interpret basic operating procedures, checklists, and communication practices for ship shore interface and oil movements.
  9. Participate in identifying operational risks and apply basic troubleshooting approaches to common issues in oil movement and jetty activities.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

 

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.

 

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
