Liquefied Natural Gas Technology
| 30 Mar. – 03 Apr. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 27 – 31 July 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course provides a practical introduction to liquefied natural gas (LNG) technology across the full value chain, from natural gas feed to liquefaction, storage, loading, and regasification. Participants will learn how LNG is produced, the key process units and equipment involved, and how process conditions, gas composition, and plant configuration affect performance, safety, and reliability. The course also highlights current industry practices, emerging technologies, and operational considerations for LNG facilities.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Describe the LNG value chain and the role of LNG in global gas markets and energy supply.
- Explain the basic principles of gas liquefaction and the thermodynamic concepts behind LNG production.
- Identify key process steps in an LNG plant, including gas pretreatment, liquefaction, storage, and loading.
- Recognize major LNG process technologies and liquefaction schemes and their main characteristics.
- Describe the function of critical LNG equipment such as cryogenic heat exchangers, compressors, and storage tanks.
- Understand the main process safety, hazard, and integrity considerations in LNG facilities.
- Relate LNG process concepts to day-to-day operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.
- Discuss recent trends in LNG technology, including small scale LNG, floating LNG, and decarbonization initiatives.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Process engineers
-Junior and graduate engineers in gas and LNG facilities
-Operations and production engineers in gas processing and LNG plants
-Control room and panel operators who support LNG processes
-Project engineers involved in LNG related developments
-Technical staff needing a structured overview of LNG technology
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
