COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course will provide participants with solid knowledge of operations at oil and gas marine terminals and jetties. It introduces the main types and functions of marine terminals, key jetty layouts and equipment, and the interfaces between shore facilities and visiting vessels. The course covers principles of oil and gas marine terminal and jetty safety, operational functions such as berthing, mooring, cargo transfer, and line management, as well as the impact of weather and marine conditions on operating limits. Emphasis is placed on safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operations, aligned with international practices and terminal procedures.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain the role and basic configuration of oil and gas marine terminals and jetties within the overall supply chain.
- Describe key elements of jetty specifications, including structures, berths, loading systems, and associated transfer facilities.
- Identify the main operational functions carried out at marine terminals and jetties, from vessel arrival to departure.
- Explain the principles of oil and gas marine terminal and jetty safety, including personal safety, process safety, and marine safety aspects.
- Describe how weather and marine factors influence operating limits and decision making in terminals and jetties.
- Recognize the main equipment and systems used in jetty operations and their role in safe cargo handling and emergency shutdown.
- Apply standard procedures, checklists, and communication practices during jetty operations and ship shore interface.
- Contribute to the identification of operational risks and basic troubleshooting of common issues during jetty operations.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
