COURSE OVERVIEW:

This course provides a structured overview of industrial codes and standards and how they are applied within engineering companies and operating facilities. Participants will explore the role of international, national, and company standards in design, construction, operation, and maintenance activities, with a particular focus on how to interpret requirements and translate them into practical engineering and operational practices. Emphasis is placed on understanding how to prepare and maintain company codes and standards and how to locate and use external standards effectively.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Define industrial codes, standards, specifications, and guidelines and explain the differences between them.
  2. Distinguish between international, national, and company standards and understand where each is typically applied.
  3. Interpret key sections, clauses, and terminology used in major industrial codes and standards.
  4. Contribute to the preparation, review, and maintenance of company-specific codes, standards, and specifications.
  5. Identify and access relevant external codes and standards required for their discipline and projects.
  6. Apply codes and standards in day-to-day design, operations, and maintenance decisions to improve safety, reliability, and compliance.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

 

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.

 

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
