Fuel Gas System Operations, Control and Troubleshooting

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This training course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to effectively operate, start up, shut down, and troubleshoot fuel gas systems in industrial plants. The course covers fuel gas system fundamentals, system configuration, and the role of fuel gas in supporting critical process units and fired equipment. It focuses on optimal operating parameters, monitoring and control techniques, alarm and trip logic interpretation, and structured troubleshooting of abnormal conditions. Participants will learn how to diagnose system upsets, implement safe and effective corrective actions, and coordinate with maintenance and safety teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of fuel gas systems.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the fundamentals of fuel gas systems, their configuration, and their importance in industrial processes.
  2. Learn and apply correct procedures for startup and shutdown of fuel gas systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  3. Gain proficiency in monitoring fuel gas system operations, identifying deviations from normal conditions, and recognizing early warning signs of problems.
  4. Acquire skills to take appropriate corrective actions for operational problems, including coordination with field and maintenance personnel.
  5. Interpret the control logic, alarm settings, and interlocks related to fuel gas system operation for effective troubleshooting.
  6. Analyze system trends and historical data to support root cause analysis and performance improvement.
  7. Apply best practices in safety, integrity, and reliability management for fuel gas systems.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

 

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.

 

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
