Fertiliser Asset Knowledge
| 08 – 12 June 2026, Abu Dhabi | 26 – 30 Oct. 2026, Sharm El Shaikh |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This comprehensive course on Fertilizer Asset Knowledge – Basics provides participants with a structured overview of the main assets that make up modern fertilizer production facilities. It explains the purpose, basic configuration and operating role of key process units, utilities and supporting systems typically found in ammonia, urea and related fertilizer plants. Emphasis is placed on understanding how these assets interact within the overall production chain, the main risks and constraints associated with them, and how day-to-day operation and maintenance decisions affect safety, reliability and performance. Participants will also be introduced to common terminology, basic process flow schemes and typical equipment used in fertilizer plants through practical examples and case studies.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Explain the basic concepts and principles underlying fertilizer asset knowledge and how these assets support fertilizer production.
- Identify the main process units and supporting systems in fertilizer plants and describe their primary functions at a high level.
- Recognize the key equipment types commonly used in fertilizer assets, such as reactors, compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, storage tanks and material handling systems.
- Understand how process units, utilities and offsite facilities are integrated within a fertilizer complex and how constraints in one area impact overall performance.
- Describe basic asset related risks and controls in fertilizer plants, including safety, environmental and reliability considerations.
- Apply basic fertilizer asset knowledge to real world operational scenarios and discussions with engineering, operations and maintenance teams.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Operations engineers and supervisors working in or moving into fertilizer plants
-Junior process, mechanical or production engineers seeking a broad overview of fertilizer assets
-Field and panel operators who want to better understand plant assets and their interactions
-Maintenance, reliability and inspection personnel supporting fertilizer facilities
-HSE and technical support staff who require a basic understanding of fertilizer assets and configurations
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
