Facilities Precommissioning and Commissioning
| 01 – 05 June 2026, Dubai | 19 – 23 Oct. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
This comprehensive course is designed to equip professionals in the oil and gas industry with the essential skills required for the efficient planning and execution of precommissioning and commissioning activities. It covers the full lifecycle from construction completion through system checks, functional testing, and handover into normal operation. Participants will learn how to prepare facilities for startup, manage interfaces between project and operations teams, apply risk mitigation and hazard management, and follow structured handover and acceptance protocols. The course focuses on practical application using realistic examples, ensuring a smooth and safe transition from engineering assets to fully operational units.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Grasp the fundamental concepts and importance of precommissioning and commissioning in the oil and gas sector.
- Distinguish clearly between precommissioning, commissioning, and start up activities and understand their interfaces with construction and operations.
- Identify potential risks and hazards associated with precommissioning and commissioning activities and work scopes.
- Implement established procedures and control measures to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Understand standard handover protocols in the oil and gas industry, including mechanical completion, system handover, and final acceptance.
- Describe acceptance procedures and their significance in transitioning from construction to operational phases.
- Acquire practical skills in planning and implementing precommissioning and commissioning activities, including systemisation, punch listing, and functional testing.
- Perform basic hands-on exercises and simulations that mirror real-world precommissioning and commissioning scenarios.
- Recognise and apply relevant industry regulations, codes, and standards related to precommissioning and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality requirements throughout precommissioning and commissioning phases.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Project engineers
-Construction engineers and site engineers
-Commissioning engineers and commissioning coordinators
-Operations and maintenance engineers
-Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) specialists
-Supervisors and team leaders involved in facility start up and handover activities
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
