Delayed Coker and Coke Calcination Design

26 – 30 Jan. 2026, Dubai27 – 31 July 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This comprehensive course on Delayed Coker and Coke Calcination Design delves into the key aspects of interpreting, reviewing and enhancing design specifications for delayed coker units and coke calcination facilities. Participants will examine process flow schemes, critical equipment, operating constraints and product quality requirements. Emphasis is placed on integrating process design, mechanical design and operational considerations in order to achieve safe, reliable and efficient unit performance. Practical exercises and case studies will allow participants to apply design concepts to real-world refinery and calcination scenarios.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Gain an in-depth understanding of delayed coker and coke calcination design principles, including process configurations, key equipment, and product quality drivers.
  2. Apply delayed coker and coke calcination design techniques to real-world projects, translating process data and operating requirements into robust design specifications.
  3. Develop effective strategies for implementing and optimizing delayed coker and coke calcination designs, considering reliability, maintainability, safety, and environmental performance.
  4. Understand the latest industry trends, standards, and best practices in delayed coker and coke calcination design and relate them to their own facilities and projects.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

-Process engineers involved in refinery residue upgrading and heavy oil processing

-Design and project engineers working on delayed coker or coke calcination units

-Operations and panel operators from delayed coker and calciner units

-Maintenance and reliability engineers supporting cokers and calcination plants

-Technical support, planning, and optimization engineers in refineries and petrochemical complexes

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
