Continuous Catalyst Regeneration (CCR) Platforming - Process Standard
| 29 June – 03 July 2026, Dubai | 21 – 25 Sep. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The course provides a structured overview of Continuous Catalyst Regeneration (CCR) Platforming units that utilize Atmospheric and/or Cyclemax regenerators. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the CCR process configuration, catalyst circulation and regeneration concepts, and the key operating standards that govern safe, reliable, and optimized operation.
The course also focuses on how to maintain catalyst activity and selectivity, manage regeneration tower operation, and apply troubleshooting techniques to typical CCR Platforming unit upsets and performance deviations.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Describe the overall CCR Platforming process and its role within the refinery configuration.
- Explain the main components and process flow of a CCR Platforming unit, including reactors, recycled gas system, and fractionation section.
- Explain the principles of catalyst deactivation, regeneration, and continuous catalyst circulation in CCR units.
- Distinguish between Atmospheric and Cyclemax regenerators and describe their main design and operating features.
- Interpret key operating variables, constraints, and process standards used to maintain safe and stable CCR Platforming operation.
- Apply basic optimization principles to improve reformate quality, hydrogen production, and overall unit efficiency while protecting catalyst life.
- Identify common operating issues and apply structured troubleshooting approaches to CCR Platforming and regenerator upsets.
- Recognize key safety, integrity, and environmental considerations associated with CCR Platforming and regeneration systems.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
-Process engineers are involved in CCR Platforming and reforming units.
-Operations engineers and console/panel operators support CCR units.
-Unit supervisors and shift leaders responsible for reforming/CCR operations.
-Process technologists and planning/optimization engineers need CCR familiarity.
-Maintenance and reliability engineers who interact with CCR Platforming equipment.
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material through PowerPoint equipped with necessary animation, learning videos, and general discussions will be provided.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
