Advanced Change Management Work Process

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course will introduce participants to the basics of the Change Management work process used to control plant and facilities modifications, process changes, capital proposal development and temporary changes. It explains why a structured Change Management Process is essential for safe, reliable, and compliant operations, and how operators contribute at each step. The course will walk through change categories, initiation of change proposals, review and development activities, the role of the Change Review Committee, and change authorization and implementation, using practical examples and simple case scenarios.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Define the purpose of the Change Management Process and explain why it is critical for safe and reliable operations.
- Describe the main change categories, including plant and facilities modification, process change, capital proposal development, and temporary change.
- Distinguish between routine work and changes that must follow the formal Change Management Process.
- Explain the steps for initiating a change proposal, including information to be captured and basic screening and review requirements.
- Describe the role and responsibilities of key parties in the process, including change initiators, reviewers, and the Change Review Committee.
- Outline the typical content of a change proposal, including technical description and high-level assessment of safety, operations, quality, and cost impacts.
- Explain the concept of change authorization and the need for defined approval levels and signatures before implementation.
- Follow the Change Management workflow from proposal, review, authorization, and communication through to implementation and close out at an operator level.
- Recognize the operator’s role in implementing approved changes and reporting any issues during or after implementation.
- Participate in simple post-implementation reviews and contribute to capturing lessons learned to improve the Change Management Process.

-Operators and panel operators working in process and production facilities
-Field operators involved in day-to-day plant and facilities activities
-Operations supervisors and shift team leaders supporting change implementation
-Technicians who may initiate or be affected by plant and process changes
-New operations staff who require a basic understanding of the Change Management Process
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximize the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material through PowerPoint equipped with necessary animation, learning videos, and general discussions will be provided.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and after the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants who complete at least 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
