Advanced of Process Simulator systems

20 – 24 Apr. 2026, Abu Dhabi17 – 21 Aug. 2026, Dubai

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This course will introduce participants to the basics of process simulator systems used in oil, gas, petrochemical, and related process industries, with a practical focus on using HYSYS as a steady state process simulation tool. Participants will learn about different types of process simulators, how they support plant design and operations, and how to build, navigate, and optimize simple process simulations. The course will guide participants through efficient use of key HYSYS functions to construct and run steady state models, review results, and perform basic what if and optimization style studies that support day to day operations.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the purpose of process simulators and their role in supporting process operations and engineering.
  2. Identify different types of process simulators commonly used in process industries and recognize when they are applied.
  3. Navigate the HYSYS user interface and understand the main elements of a process simulation environment.
  4. Build steady state process simulations in HYSYS by defining components, choosing thermodynamic methods, and creating process streams and unit operations at a basic level.
  5. Use key HYSYS functions efficiently to enter data, run simulations, and review calculated results.
  6. Perform basic troubleshooting of simulations that do not converge or give unexpected results.
  7. Apply simple what-if changes in HYSYS to see how process variables affect plant behaviour.
  8. Use basic HYSYS tools to support operations-related tasks such as estimating conditions, checking balances, and understanding process responses.
  9. Communicate more effectively with process and simulation specialists using common HYSYS and process simulation terminology.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

-Operators and panel operators who interact with process simulations or use simulation outputs

-Operations personnel who want to understand how simulations represent their plant

-Technicians and field operators interested in learning how HYSYS supports process decisions

-Junior operations and production staff looking for an introduction to process simulation tools

-Any operations staff who work with engineers using HYSYS and need a practical understanding of the basics

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures and discussion sessions, as well as case studies, will be managed to maximise the amount and quality of information, knowledge, and experience transfer. The course will be intensive but practical and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance learning. Course material through PowerPoint equipped with necessary animation, learning videos, and general discussions will be provided.

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
