Port and Terminal Operations Auditing and Compliance Review

26 – 30 Jan. 2026, Dubai21 – 25 Dec. 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

Port and Terminal Operations Auditing and Compliance Review is a strategic program designed to ensure the integrity, safety, and efficiency of maritime gateways. This course examines the multi-layered regulatory environment governing port activities, including the ISPS Code, MARPOL, and local environmental standards. It provides a technical framework for conducting systematic audits of operational workflows, equipment maintenance, and security protocols.

The scope of this training involves the mastery of audit methodologies, from the "Pre-Audit" documentation review to the "On-Site" verification of physical assets and personnel competency. Participants will explore the mechanics of risk-based auditing, focusing on high-consequence areas such as hazardous cargo handling, berthing safety, and environmental discharge controls. The program emphasizes the role of the "Lead Auditor" in identifying non-conformities and providing actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.

Coverage includes the evaluation of Port Management Systems (PMS), the auditing of third-party contractors, and the review of emergency response readiness. The course addresses the nuances of "Compliance Fatigue" and provides strategies for fostering a proactive safety culture within the terminal workforce. By focusing on objective evidence and regulatory benchmarking, this course equips port professionals with the expertise needed to maintain "Audit-Ready" facilities that meet international best practices.
