LNG Jetty and Tanker Operations (Level Two Advanced)

11 – 15 May 2026, Sharm El Shaikh05 – 09 Oct. 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

The LNG Jetty and Tanker Operations (Level TWO Advanced) course is a high-level technical program designed for supervisors and officers responsible for the command and control of LNG transfers. This course examines the complex thermodynamics, engineering, and management strategies required to lead a safe and efficient terminal operation. It provides a detailed analysis of non-routine operations, such as "Gas-Freeing" for dry dock, and the management of emergency scenarios involving structural or equipment failure.

The scope of this training involves the rigorous study of cargo handling calculations, including "Custody Transfer Measurement Systems" (CTMS) and the energy content of LNG. Participants will explore the technical details of Marine Loading Arm (MLA) hydraulics, Emergency Release Systems (ERS), and the logic of Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS). The program emphasizes leadership during the Ship-to-Shore interface, focusing on risk-based decision-making and the coordination of large teams during critical operations.

Coverage includes the advanced management of "Boil-off Gas" (BOG) and "Vapor Handling," the physics of "Rollover" prevention, and the detailed analysis of cryogenic fatigue in piping and tanks. The course addresses the regulatory requirements of the IGC Code and the latest SIGTTO recommendations for jetty safety. By providing an expert-level deep dive into LNG operations, this course equips participants with the expertise to manage modern LNG terminals and tankers with the highest degree of professional competence.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  1. Lead the pre-transfer meeting and synchronize ship-shore operations.
  2. Manage complex cargo cycles including "Gassing-up" and "Cool-down."
  3. Interpret CTMS data and calculate LNG energy transfer (MMBTU).
  4. Troubleshoot Marine Loading Arm (MLA) and ERS failures.
  5. Manage "Boil-off Gas" (BOG) to optimize terminal and ship efficiency.
  6. Conduct detailed risk assessments for "Ship-to-Ship" (STS) transfers.
  7. Implement advanced strategies for "Rollover" prevention and detection.
  8. Oversee "Gas-Freeing" and "Aerating" operations for maintenance.
  9. Manage the Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) interface.
  10. Lead the response to major emergencies: Fire, Spill, or ESD failure.
  11. Audit the effectiveness of the Ship/Shore Safety Checklist compliance.
  12. Manage the environmental impact and VOC emissions of the terminal.
  13. Drive continuous improvement through incident analysis and "Lessons Learned."

TARGET AUDIENCE:

Senior Deck Officers (Captain/Chief Officer), Loading Masters, Jetty Supervisors, Terminal Engineers, and HSE Managers.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximise the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
