Work Management and Control: Job Plans, Permits, and Execution Readiness
| 27 Apr. – 01 May 2026, Abu Dhabi | 24 – 28 Aug. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The fundamental meaning of this course is the systematic control of the maintenance work cycle to ensure every task is performed safely, efficiently, and to the correct technical standard. Work Management is the process of transforming a "Work Request" into a "Completed Action" through rigorous planning and coordination. This course focuses on the "Execution Readiness" phase, where the alignment of job plans, safety permits, and technical resources determines the success of the maintenance intervention.
The scope of this training involves the detailed development of "Job Plans," which serve as the technical blueprint for the technician. Participants will examine the "Permit to Work" (PTW) interface, ensuring that safety isolations and environmental controls are integrated into the work control process. The curriculum emphasizes "Readiness Tracking," providing a framework for verifying that all "Prerequisites" (Parts, Tools, People, and Access) are met before a single wrench is turned in the field.
Coverage includes the use of CMMS workflows to manage the work lifecycle, the implementation of "Quality Hold Points," and the management of "Post-Job Feedback." Attendees will explore how a disciplined work management system reduces "Waste" and significantly improves "Wrench-Time" by eliminating field delays. By the end of this program, participants will be able to lead a work control process that ensures maximum asset availability through precision execution.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Define the technical stages of the "Work Management Lifecycle."
- Create "Standard Job Plans" with detailed steps, tools, and safety requirements.
- Implement a "Readiness Checklist" to verify work is "Fit-for-Execution."
- Manage the "Permit to Work" (PTW) process and safety isolations.
- Utilize the "CMMS" to track work status from "Initiation" to "Closeout."
- Estimate "Man-Hours" and "Craft Mix" for maintenance tasks accurately.
- Conduct "Pre-Job Briefings" to align teams on technical and safety goals.
- Implement "Quality Hold Points" within the maintenance execution flow.
- Manage "Material Kitting" and staging for planned work orders.
- Utilize "Post-Job Feedback" to improve future job plans and estimates.
- Measure "Work Management KPIs" (Backlog, Readiness, and Compliance).
- Audit the "Technical Quality" of completed work and documentation.
