Integrated Operations and Maintenance Planning (O&M Alignment)
| 09 – 13 Feb. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 07 – 11 Dec. 2026, Dubai |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The historical friction between Operations and Maintenance often results in lost production and increased asset degradation. This course provides a strategic framework for "O&M Alignment," transforming these two functions into a unified force focused on total plant performance. It focuses on the transition from reactive "fixing" to proactive "asset care," where operations personnel play a critical role in the reliability of the equipment they manage.
The scope of this training involves the design and implementation of joint planning and scheduling processes. Participants will explore the mechanics of "Operator Care" (TPM), the synchronization of production schedules with maintenance windows, and the establishment of shared Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The curriculum emphasizes the importance of communication protocols, such as daily synchronization meetings and "War Room" logistics, to ensure that asset availability is maximized without compromising safety or production targets.
Coverage includes the development of a "Partnership Agreement" between departments, the integration of maintenance into the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) cycle, and the use of the CMMS as a shared data platform. Attendees will explore conflict resolution techniques and leadership strategies to break down silos. By the end of this course, participants will be able to implement an integrated work management system that treats maintenance as a strategic enabler of production rather than a necessary evil.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Define the roles and responsibilities in a high-performing O&M partnership.
- Implement a shared "Asset Care" strategy based on TPM principles.
- Design a joint "Integrated Work Management" workflow in the CMMS.
- Align production schedules with maintenance "Windows of Opportunity."
- Establish common KPIs that reward both uptime and reliability.
- Facilitate effective daily and weekly "Coordination and Synchronization" meetings.
- Develop an "Operator Care" program for basic inspections and lubrication.
- Utilize "Risk-Based Prioritization" for the shared work backlog.
- Streamline the "Handover" process between maintenance and operations.
- Manage conflicting priorities through a formal "Service Level Agreement" (SLA).
- Integrate maintenance requirements into the long-term production plan.
- Foster a culture of "Zero Silos" and mutual accountability for asset health.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is vital for Operations Managers, Maintenance Managers, Shift Supervisors, Planners, Schedulers, and Production Engineers who need to improve inter-departmental collaboration.
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximize the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
