Asset Performance Management (APM): Concepts and Implementation
| 04 – 08 May 2026, Abu Dhabi | 28 Sep. – 02 Oct. 2026, Sharm El Shaikh |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
Asset Performance Management (APM) represents the evolution of traditional maintenance into a digitally enabled, strategic discipline. This course focuses on how organizations can leverage data, analytics, and software to improve the reliability and availability of physical assets while minimizing risk and cost. It bridges the gap between operational technology on the plant floor and information technology in the boardroom, providing a unified view of asset health across the enterprise.
The scope of this training includes the exploration of APM frameworks, including the integration of Condition Monitoring, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Asset Integrity Management. Participants will learn how to build a digital twin of their operations, allowing for predictive modeling and "what if" scenario analysis. The course emphasizes the transition from calendar based maintenance to performance based strategies, where interventions are driven by the actual condition and criticality of the asset.
Coverage includes the implementation of APM software platforms, the role of the Internet of Things (IoT) in data collection, and the application of advanced analytics for failure prediction. Attendees will gain a deep understanding of how to align APM initiatives with ISO 55000 standards for asset management. By the end of this course, participants will have a comprehensive roadmap for implementing an APM strategy that delivers measurable improvements in operational excellence and asset lifecycle value.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Define the core components and business value of Asset Performance Management.
- Align APM strategies with the ISO 55000 international standard.
- Implement a risk based approach to asset prioritization and management.
- Integrate disparate data sources into a centralized APM platform.
- Utilize predictive analytics to forecast asset failures and remaining useful life.
- Develop a comprehensive Asset Health Index (AHI) for critical equipment.
- Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles within an APM framework.
- Optimize maintenance strategies by balancing cost, risk, and performance.
- Design and implement digital twins for complex industrial processes.
- Measure the ROI of APM initiatives using standardized financial metrics.
- Leverage IIoT and edge computing for real time asset monitoring.
- Lead the cultural change required for digital transformation in maintenance.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This course is designed for Asset Managers, Reliability Engineers, Maintenance Directors, Digital Transformation Officers, Operations Managers, and IT professionals involved in industrial asset management.
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximize the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
