OSHA Laboratory Compliance: Health Protection and Safety Standards

01 – 05 June 2026, Dubai19 – 23 Oct. 2026, Abu Dhabi

COURSE OVERVIEW:

The meaning of this course lies in the alignment of laboratory operations with the rigid health and safety mandates of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Compliance is not merely about avoiding fines; it is about creating a rigorously controlled environment where the "Chemical Hygiene Plan" is the operational reality. This program provides the regulatory knowledge and technical tools needed to navigate the complex "Laboratory Standard" (29 CFR 1910.1450) and ensure that the facility meets the highest level of federal health protection.

The scope of the training focuses on the administrative and technical requirements of OSHA compliance, including the implementation of "Permissible Exposure Limits" (PELs) and "Action Levels." It addresses the specific mandates for medical surveillance, record-keeping, and employee "Right to Know" training. Participants will explore the relationship between the OSHA Laboratory Standard and other critical regulations, such as the Hazard Communication Standard and the Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, ensuring a comprehensive safety framework.

The coverage includes a deep investigation into the roles of the Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO), the documentation of employee exposure monitoring, and the maintenance of life-safety equipment. The course emphasizes the preparation for an OSHA inspection and the development of internal protocols for reporting workplace illnesses and injuries (OSHA 300 Logs). By mastering these compliance protocols, participants will be able to protect the laboratory's human assets while ensuring the legal and operational continuity of the organization.
