Practical CCTV Installation

18 – 22 May 2026, Abu Dhabi12 – 16 Oct. 2026, Dubai

COURSE OVERVIEW:

The purpose of this course is to provide hands-on technical skills for the design, installation, and maintenance of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems. Security and surveillance are critical for protecting assets and ensuring safety in both industrial and commercial environments. This program focuses on the technical transition from traditional analog systems to modern High-Definition (HD) and Internet Protocol (IP) based video solutions, ensuring that participants can build a reliable surveillance network from the ground up.

The scope of this training encompasses the full range of CCTV hardware, including various camera types, lenses, recording devices (DVR/NVR), and cabling infrastructure. Participants will explore the physics of light, the mechanics of Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras, and the digital logic of video compression. The curriculum is specifically designed for practical application, focusing on the real-world challenges of camera placement, night vision optimization, and remote viewing configuration.

Coverage includes the practical aspects of cable termination (BNC and RJ45), Power over Ethernet (PoE) management, and the configuration of Video Management Software (VMS). Attendees will learn how to calculate storage requirements, set up motion detection alerts, and troubleshoot common video interference issues. By focusing on the practical "installation" aspect, the course ensures that participants can deliver clear, continuous, and secure video evidence for any facility.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Analyze the components of an integrated CCTV system.
  • Differentiate between Analog, HD-TVI, and IP Camera technologies.
  • Select appropriate cameras (Dome, Bullet, PTZ) for specific environments.
  • Calculate Lens Focal Length and Field of View (FoV) for optimal coverage.
  • Install and terminate Coaxial and Cat6 cabling professionally.
  • Configure Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and Network Video Recorders (NVRs).
  • Implement Power over Ethernet (PoE) for IP camera networks.
  • Optimize Night Vision using Infrared (IR) and Low-light sensors.
  • Configure Motion Detection and Video Analytics for automated alerts.
  • Set up Remote Viewing on mobile devices and remote workstations.
  • Troubleshoot Video Loss, Ghosting, and Network Latency issues.
  • Adhere to privacy laws and data protection regulations for surveillance.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

This course is intended for Security Technicians, IT Support Staff, Facilities Maintenance Personnel, and System Integrators.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:

A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximize the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.

The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.

COURSE CERTIFICATE:

National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
