ArcGIS Level 2: Spatial Analysis, Geodatabases, and Automation
| 26 – 30 Jan. 2026, Dubai | 21 – 25 Dec. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
ArcGIS Level 2: Spatial Analysis, Geodatabases, and Automation is designed for GIS practitioners who wish to move beyond basic map-making into the realm of complex spatial modeling and data management. This course focuses on the advanced analytical capabilities of the ArcGIS platform, emphasizing the use of spatial statistics and 3D analysis to solve real-world problems in the energy and environmental sectors. Participants will explore how to derive meaningful patterns from raw spatial data to support high-level strategic decision-making.
The scope of this training includes the design and implementation of sophisticated File and Enterprise Geodatabases. Participants will learn to enforce data integrity through the use of domains, subtypes, and topology rules, ensuring that multi-user environments remain consistent and error-free. The course also dives deep into raster analysis, surface modeling, and interpolation techniques, which are essential for creating continuous surfaces from point data, such as contouring reservoir properties or mapping environmental contaminants.
Furthermore, the course introduces the power of automation through ModelBuilder and Python scripting (ArcPy). By learning to automate repetitive geoprocessing tasks, participants can significantly increase their efficiency and ensure the reproducibility of their workflows. This technical coverage ensures that attendees can manage large-scale geospatial projects, perform rigorous spatial audits, and deliver advanced analytical products that meet the demanding standards of the modern upstream industry.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Design and build advanced Geodatabase structures for complex project requirements.
- Implement attribute domains and subtypes to streamline data entry and categorization.
- Establish and validate topology rules to maintain spatial relationship integrity.
- Perform surface interpolation using Kriging, IDW, and Spline methods.
- Execute multi-criteria site selection models using Raster Calculator and Weighted Overlay.
- Analyze spatial patterns and clusters using Hot Spot Analysis and Autocorrelation.
- Utilize 3D Analyst to visualize and analyze terrain, subsurface horizons, and well paths.
- Create automated geoprocessing workflows using the ModelBuilder interface.
- Apply basic Python (ArcPy) scripts to batch process geospatial datasets.
- Manage and optimize Enterprise Geodatabase connections and versioning workflows.
- Conduct advanced linear referencing for pipeline and infrastructure management.
- Perform hydrological analysis to map watersheds and drainage patterns.
- Integrate CAD and BIM data into a GIS environment for integrated project delivery.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
GIS Specialists, Data Analysts, Geoscientists, and Engineers who have completed Level 1 and require advanced analytical and management skills.
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximise the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
