Cased Hole Fishing Tools and Techniques

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course provides production, drilling, and well-intervention personnel with a complete understanding of cased hole fishing operations, challenges, tools, and best practices. Participants will learn how to diagnose stuck or lost objects, select the appropriate fishing tools, and apply proper techniques to safely and efficiently recover fish in cased hole environments.
The course includes an in-depth study of fishing mechanics, downhole tool functionality, operational planning, and prevention strategies to reduce fishing-related nonproductive time.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals, classifications, and causes of cased hole fishing scenarios.
- Identify and select the proper fishing tools based on fish characteristics and well conditions.
- Analyze common stuck-pipe mechanisms and determine appropriate remedial actions.
- Execute effective fishing strategies for mills, overshots, spears, jars, accelerators, and cutting tools.
- Interpret wellsite data to diagnose fish behavior and optimize fishing operations.
- Apply safety, risk mitigation, and contingency planning principles during fishing jobs.
- Prevent future fishing incidents through improved operational practices and surveillance.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximize the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
