Advanced Completion Technology
| 26 – 30 Jan. 2026, Dubai | 27 – 31 July 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
Advanced completion technology integrates state-of-the-art downhole tools, intelligent systems, digital monitoring platforms, and stimulation-enhanced designs to maximize reservoir recovery, minimize interventions, and ensure long-term well integrity. This course provides a deep and modern understanding of the latest completion technologies used in complex reservoirs including carbonate, unconventional, HPHT, deepwater, and multi-zone fields.
Participants will explore advanced topics such as smart completions (ICDs, ICVs, interval control systems), multistage fracturing technologies, autonomous inflow control devices, expandable tubulars, advanced sand control systems, fiber-optic and distributed sensing technologies, digital twins, and real-time production optimization. The course blends engineering theory with hands-on design logic, failure analysis, case studies, and performance modelling, enabling participants to implement cutting-edge solutions that deliver optimized well performance and reduced operational risk.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the full landscape of modern and emerging completion technologies.
- Evaluate advanced inflow control systems and their applications in heterogeneous reservoirs.
- Design smart completion systems incorporating ICVs, ICDs, and real-time control units.
- Select appropriate sand control technologies for complex formation challenges.
- Integrate fiber-optic and distributed acoustic/temperature sensing (DAS/DTS) into well designs.
- Assess multistage fracturing technologies and completion methods for unconventional reservoirs.
- Apply digital monitoring tools and completion digital twins for optimization.
- Evaluate expandable tubulars and hybrid systems for wellbore enlargement and zonal isolation.
- Analyze completion equipment performance under HPHT and corrosive conditions.
- Understand autonomous downhole control systems and self-regulating inflow devices.
- Identify failure mechanisms and design mitigation strategies for advanced completions.

TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximise the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
