API 570 Piping Inspector Exam Preparation Training
| 09 – 13 Feb. 2026, Abu Dhabi | 10 – 14 Aug. 2026, Abu Dhabi |
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The API 570 Piping Inspector Exam Preparation Training is an intensive technical program meticulously designed to prepare inspection professionals for the API 570 certification. This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the in-service inspection, repair, and alteration requirements for metallic piping systems. It serves as a vital resource for ensuring that piping networks in refineries, chemical plants, and terminals are managed according to the highest industry standards for safety and reliability.
The scope of this training encompasses the relationship between the API 570 code and the ASME B31.3 Process Piping design code. Participants will gain proficiency in calculating pipe wall thicknesses, determining pressure ratings for flanges, and evaluating the remaining life of piping circuits. The curriculum covers the various classes of piping service and the associated inspection frequencies, as well as the technical requirements for non-destructive testing and welding qualifications as they relate specifically to piping systems.
Coverage includes the API 570 "Body of Knowledge," which integrates elements of ASME Section IX (Welding), ASME Section V (NDT), and several API Recommended Practices. The course focuses on practical problem-solving, code navigation, and the interpretation of complex technical requirements. By the end of this preparation, attendees will be thoroughly equipped to demonstrate their expertise in piping integrity, enabling them to lead inspection efforts that prevent leaks and ensure the mechanical integrity of critical fluid transport systems.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Interpret the requirements of API 570 for piping inspection and maintenance.
- Calculate the minimum required thickness for piping based on ASME B31.3.
- Determine the Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP) for piping systems.
- Establish piping circuits and designate appropriate inspection intervals.
- Apply corrosion rates to predict the remaining life of piping assets.
- Navigate the pressure-temperature ratings for different flange classes.
- Review welding procedure specifications (WPS) for piping repairs.
- Evaluate the impact of "deadlegs" and stagnant service on piping integrity.
- Conduct pre-test planning for hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
- Identify the requirements for inspecting buried piping and soil-to-air interfaces.
- Execute the "Body of Knowledge" requirements for the API certification exam.
- Analyze NDE results to detect piping defects such as CUI and erosion.
- Formulate repair procedures for piping that comply with code mandates.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This training is designed for piping inspectors, plant engineers, maintenance supervisors, and QA/QC specialists who intend to sit for the API 570 certification exam.
TRAINING COURSE METHODOLOGY:
A highly interactive combination of lectures, discussion sessions, and case studies will be employed to maximise the transfer of information, knowledge, and experience. The course will be intensive, practical, and highly interactive. The sessions will start by raising the most relevant questions and motivating everybody to find the right answers. The attendants will also be encouraged to raise more of their questions and to share in developing the right answers using their analysis and experience. There will also be some indoor experiential activities to enhance the learning experience. Course material will be provided in PowerPoint, with necessary animations, learning videos, and general discussions.
The course participants shall be evaluated before, during, and at the end of the course.
COURSE CERTIFICATE:
National Consultant Centre for Training LLC (NCC) will issue an Attendance Certificate to all participants completing a minimum of 80% of the total attendance time requirement.
