Course Overview:

The course will provide the participants with the knowledge in the fields of Regional Geology of a region and/or basin. The course will also provide an understanding of the main geological processes that have led to the current geological conformation of UAE and the field of petroleum generation, migration, and accumulation of hydrocarbons in the UAE.

  Regional Geology of the Middle East

  An overview of the tectonic history of the Arabian Gulf

  UAE in the geologic context of the Arabian Gulf.

  The major stratigraphic and structural features in the region

  Palaeogeographic domain involved in the UAE.

  The major stratigraphic and structural features of the Palaeozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic.

  Hydrocarbon potential of the Arabian Gulf

  Oil and Gas fields in the UAE
