Course Objectives:

This course aims to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the operation, maintenance, and commissioning of power generation systems, with a focus on both conventional and renewable energy sources. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of power generation, including mechanical, electrical, and thermal processes.
  • Effectively operate and maintain various types of power generation plants such as gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel generators, and renewable energy systems (wind, solar, hydro).

  • Implement best practices for troubleshooting, diagnosing faults, and preventive maintenance in power plants.
  • Understand safety protocols and regulatory compliance related to power plant operations.
  • Manage commissioning processes for new power generation systems, including testing and system integration.
  • Develop maintenance strategies to optimize plant performance and extend equipment life.
  • Understand the economic and environmental aspects of power generation and its impact on operational costs and sustainability.
