Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand Petroleum Systems
    • Identify the key components and processes that make up a petroleum system and influence hydrocarbon accumulation.
  2. Apply Geochemical Techniques in Exploration
    • Use geochemical tools to evaluate source rocks, hydrocarbon migration, and reservoir characterization in exploration.
  3. Use Geochemical Data for Petroleum System Modeling
    • Apply geochemical modeling techniques to understand the maturation, migration, and accumulation of hydrocarbons.
  4. Evaluate Petroleum Reservoirs Using Geochemistry
    • Assess reservoir quality and composition using geochemical methods, and integrate this data into exploration and development strategies.
  5. Implement Geochemistry in Reservoir Development
    • Utilize geochemical knowledge to enhance reservoir management, including in the optimization of production and EOR techniques.

Who Should Attend:

This course is ideal for:

  1. Geochemists: Professionals working with petroleum geochemistry in exploration or reservoir management.
  2. Exploration Geologists: Geologists involved in petroleum exploration who need to integrate geochemical data with geological and geophysical analysis.
  3. Reservoir Engineers: Engineers focused on reservoir characterization, development, and production optimization who need to apply geochemical data to reservoir management.
  4. Petroleum Engineers: Engineers involved in the exploration and development of petroleum reservoirs who need to understand geochemical techniques for hydrocarbon assessment.
  5. Geophysicists: Geophysicists working on petroleum systems modeling who want to understand the integration of geochemistry with seismic and geological data.
