Geophysical Reservoir Characterization

21 – 25 July 2025Abu Dhabi03 – 07 Nov. 2025Dubai22 – 26 Dec. 2025Abu Dhabi

Course Objectives:

This course provides an in-depth understanding of geophysical techniques used for reservoir characterization, enabling participants to integrate seismic and well data to improve reservoir description and decision-making. By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand geophysical principles and their application in reservoir characterization.
  • Apply seismic data acquisition, processing, and interpretation techniques.
  • Utilize seismic attributes, inversion, and geostatistics to enhance reservoir models.
  • Integrate geophysical, geological, and petrophysical data for reservoir evaluation.
  • Identify hydrocarbon-bearing zones, lithology variations, and fluid contacts.
  • Assess reservoir heterogeneity, fractures, and structural complexities.
  • Use advanced tools such as AI/ML applications and 4D seismic monitoring.

Target Audience

This course is designed for professionals working in geophysics, reservoir characterization, and field development. The target audience includes:

  • Geophysicists & Seismic Interpreters – Analyzing seismic data for exploration and development.
  • Reservoir & Petroleum Engineers – Integrating geophysical data for reservoir models.
  • Geologists & Petrophysicists – Using seismic and well data for facies and lithology mapping.
